Rafer sez:
@barackobama You aren’t playing the game that I was led to expect. I’m not going to help the other guys and I will vote Yellow Dog, but that’s all you are getting out of me this time.Rafer: What is your gripe with Obama?
Rafer sez:
False/faked progressivism of various sorts vis-a-vis wars on asians, war on drugs, rule of law incl. Guantanamo, immigration, too-big-to-fail, copyright incl. ACTA, anti-trust enforcement, etc., roughly in that order.Fascinating I’m sure to those who follow to our usual pitical discussions - @Rafer and I agree on most of that list and issues w/ the biggest difference on an issue being on how to pull out of Iraq/Afghanistan. War on drugs, Immigration, too big to fail, ACTA and anti-trust we are in complete agreement on.
Rafer sez:
All true, but let’s not overdo it. I do give the O credit for healthcare reform, certain of the increased government spending programs, and fighting extension the Bush tax cuts for the rich. I don’t think we have a lot of overlap there.
@Rafer you had to go an ruin the kumbaya moment we were having? :) correct we disagree on everything you mentioned though not because I don’t think we need tax, revenue, entitlement and health care reform but because I just don’t see the benefit in “reforms” that largely do nothing but reinforce a cronyist system and provide any bigger troughs to fatten up at. I know you feel that they are the lease of evils for a greater good, but like you on militarist issues I just can’t stomach it. I may be being impractical but I sleep better with my idealism.
