This guy seems to be neither a Republican and nor (certainly) a scientist.

Just because there’s no proof of causation doesn’t mean that causation can’t be discussed. My reliance on science prevents me from being a Republican. First and foremost, GOP economic policies and goals are magical thinking.

While I’m not going to suggest that my outlook is responsible for the underrepresentation of Republicans among scientists, my outlook is certainly not unique.

Sawickipedia says:

And science prevents me from being a democrat. Belief in untestable theories is as much religion as it is science as both require acts of faith.  Something democrats in their more secular views often fail to recognize.

And economics with it’s high degree of uncertainty is really more politics then it is science.  And even then economics doesn’t say something is right or wrong - it just says something is X or Y.  And the choice between X or Y is a matter of values - and the choice of values is the basis of politics.   For example, a high governtment percent of gdp isn’t necessarily right or wrong - it’s realities are a matter of political preference.
